Australian Tour Heads South
By: RB - Aug. 26, 2007
The FMSC group has made it to Canberra after a stop in Manley. Canberra is definitely a completely different city than Sydney. Gone is the crazy and busy major metropolis of Sydney. Here we have a city (Capital city of Australia) that is only about 300,000 people and it is really spread out. The sity is really made up very organized. It was designed by an American that based it on Geometry. We have encountered the biggest traffic circle I have ever seen. It is about 2-3km around and everything in the city runs off of this. The Parliment Buildings are within State Circle (the biggest circle in the city) and they are impressive.
We are swimming with Ginninderra Swim Club this week. They are a smaller team that swim in the Canberra International Aquatic Centre. IT is not very far from the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) and we will be touring that in the next couple of days. Today we are heading to the Australian Natural History Museum and we will also take in Questacon - The National Centre for Science and Technology.
More to come.
Good on yeh!
